Welcome to the Epsilon Omicron Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity at the University of Southern California
Letter from the President
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Our brotherhood has a deep history at USC, and we're entering 2009 with an ambitious agenda and a firm foundation upon which to build.
Founded in 1869, Sigma Nu is a college fraternity with 184 active chapters and colonies across the nation. The USC chapter, founded in 1930, has initiated over 1600 members throughout its history.
Currently, our chapter's brotherhood extends to almost 100 undergraduates. These members come from as far away as Romania and as nearby as Pasadena, and they study everything from electrical engineering to screenwriting.
Scholarship is an important part of our house's culture. Last semester, our pledge class earned an average GPA of 3.19, the second highest among fraternities and notably higher than the non-Greek male average. Monitored study hours, in-house tutoring, and strict scholarship standards ensure that academics remain the top priority for our new members.
Sigma Nu is proud to be an active contributor to USC's Greek community. Centered on 28th Street, this community - the largest Greek system west of the Mississippi - is home to 20 fraternities and 10 sororities.
Sigma Nu's philanthropic, social, and brotherhood events add immeasurably to the vibrancy of fraternity row and the USC campus. Major events for the spring semester include our annual alumni banquet, a Big Bear invite, a Las Vegas formal, a career barbeque with alumni, and Sigma Zoo Philanthropy.
But it there's one thing that we're most proud of, it's our brotherhood. Despite our chapter's size and the diversity of our members, we remain a cohesive house, united as friends and as brothers.
I hope you'll take the time to explore our website and learn more about our chapter.
